CHURCH IN ACTION

ANNUAL MEETING 1973

From the August 1973 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This year's Annual Meeting convened in Boston Monday afternoon, June 4—followed by special meetings Monday night and Tuesday and by workshops on Wednesday.

Thousands of Christian Scientists from all over the world congregated at the Christian Science Center and shared the joy of seeing the new Administration Building and Church Colonnade occupied. The construction fences are down so that the large plaza with the reflecting pool is open to the public. They learned that the plaza has become an area which residents of the neighborhood also are invited to enjoy.

One highlight of the three-day Annual Meeting season was an hour-long film shown Tuesday evening, reporting on activities of Christian Scientists in different parts of the world. The Annual Meeting itself presented business reports from Church officers, ending with a message from The Christian Science Board of Directors.
