It is with deep gratitude for our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and in support of her demonstration of the establishment of the periodicals that I submit these proofs of the healing power of Christian Science.
A healing of scarlet fever in four days occurred when I was in high school. I came home from school on a Wednesday night and felt quite uncomfortable that night and the next day. By Thursday evening I was quite feverish and manifested a rash. My mother, who was caring for me and in touch with the practitioner quite often, suspected what the malady was. The next morning a physician kindly to Christian Science was called, since in that state it was the law that scarlet fever required quarantine. He came later that day, but by that time the healing work done by the practitioner was evident.
Upon examination, the doctor said, "Well, it has been scarlet fever and she's supposed to have fever for several more days." According to him, my temperature was only one half degree above normal then. He said it would be all right for me to go back to school whenever I felt like it and he would be happy to give me a written clearance, which the school required if a student was out for more than two days for illness. I was back in school on Monday morning with no evidence of the disease. Every vestige of it had been wiped out.
