Happiness Is in Loving God

From the August 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Many spend an entire lifetime pursuing happiness. Christian Science teaches that happiness is spiritually based and available to all.

As we obey God and love Him supremely, we find an overflowing wealth of peace, gladness, and joy. We catch glimpses of the heavenly bliss of which Mrs. Eddy writes: "Happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love." Science and Health, p. 57; We can rejoice, for we need not wait for that certain day— after all earthly problems are solved—to be happy.

The radiancy of the Christ develops in each one of us as we learn to love God and place Him first in every thought and deed. We can praise God for His infinite goodness: "Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance." Acts 2:28; This is a wonderful way to live.
