Response and Responsibility

From the August 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One who responds to the unerring direction of God can be sure he will act in a humanly responsible manner. But if one approaches life's problems with a sense of personal responsibility, he stands the chance of human failure.

Man is the reflection of God. He lives in the parent Mind as idea, the image and likeness of his Maker. Response is the very nature of his being. The responsibility for maintaining and perpetuating man and the universe belongs to God, the only creator.

These absolute truths can be used by each of us in our daily experience, and can relieve us of much false responsibility, which brings with it a burdensome sense that involves fear, frustration, lack, human will, and even illness.
