The Invariable Gifts of God

From the August 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

According to the teachings of Christian Science, everything good, really good, exists in God, the source of all true being. Anything in human experience inconsistent with God's goodness exists only as a mistake of human belief—and actually fades into oblivion as good is understood and applied.

James declared, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17;

Everyone who appears to our unperfected view to be a human personality is actually the reflection or manifestation of God—of all good. Our true selfhood or Christly nature is man, the image and likeness of God. Man includes by reflection the invariable spiritual gifts—every quality, idea, faculty, condition, and element—of Deity, and nothing else. He is God-made, and manifests and partakes of God's fullness.
