Impossible? Not Really!

From the January 1976 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A woman believed for years that it would be impossible for her to succeed in her chosen profession. In listening prayerfully and earnestly for God's messages, she was guided to take the initial steps to enter that profession in spite of the appearance of limited finances.

As months passed, prospects that had appeared bright at the outset dimmed, and her income steadily diminished. Bills became pressing. With mounting despair, she clung steadfastly to the spiritual power of Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (spiritually interpreting the words of the Lord's Prayer "Thy kingdom come"): "Thy kingdom is come; Thou art ever-present." Science and Health, p. 16;

Suddenly she realized that what she really needed to do was to put down mental opposition parading as her own thinking— the carnal mind, termed by Paul "enmity against God." Rom. 8:7; She saw that she had to come to grips with a deep-lying conviction that without a weekly paycheck she could never make it and that her income depended on material factors "out there."
