Three Essentials in Healing

The Christian Scientist is a healer! This is his high purpose. The "Historical Sketch" in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy states: "At a meeting of the Christian Scientist Association, April 12, 1879, on motion of Mrs. Eddy, it was voted,—To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing." Man., p. 17;

In setting the reinstatement of primitive Christianity with its healing as the goal of her Church, Mrs. Eddy set this goal for her followers. It was her healing work and that of early pioneer Christian Scientists that has served as a foundation to the establishment of the Church of Christ, Scientist. It has been the continuing healing activity of Scientists that has resulted in the building of Christian Science churches all over the world. And it is this same healing activity that will continue to spread this teaching for as long as humanity is in need of healing.

While touring recently in the country I was impressed with the multitude of hills and their lush green carpet of fresh spring grass. There seemed to be thousands of hills and upon them thousands of cattle. I was repeatedly reminded of the verse in Psalms, "For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills." Ps. 50:10;
