CHURCH IN ACTION/A SPECIAL REPORT

ANNUAL MEETING 1977

From the August 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"We're living in a marvelous age. And it's a marvelous time for our church, too. But we can't recognize this," The Christian Science Board of Directors told Mother Church members attending this year's Annual Meeting, "if we focus on the fermentation in mortal thought and conclude there's not much hope for Christian Science in this age. We can penetrate this surface appearance as Jesus did, and as our Leader did, and see in the signs of these times that the law of God is operating with absolute authority."

The meeting, comprising morning and afternoon sessions this year, was held in Boston on Monday, June 6. The one-day program also included an inspirational meeting Monday evening that emphasized the deep dimensions of scientific Christianity.
