Because the teachings of Christian Science are so absolutely spiritual and radical, the question may arise as to how practical they are—how appealing to common sense.
Experience in Christian Science shows that the more spiritually clear and absolute our prayer is, the more practical it is. Such prayer doesn't leave us neutral or inactive or ineffectual. It leads us to do what needs doing and to do it with good timing and efficiency. It heals. So a Christian Scientist is not someone who lives in a kind of spiritual dreamworld. A Scientist is humane, practical, and commonsensical.
How can this be?
