As a teen-ager, I was injured in a fall from a galloping horse. No medicine or drugs of any kind were given me. Through pondering truths of man, God's spiritual idea, which I had been taught in a Christian Science Sunday School, I was quickly healed.
With this sure beginning, in later years I overcame many discords. These proofs include finding freedom from such annoyances as the common cold and headaches. For a while I strayed from the practice of Christian Science in a futile effort to find a better way. But I soon discovered there is no better way than the straight and narrow pathway of Truth.
In the armed services, during the wartime, I began to learn how vital to my well-being is the example of Christ Jesus, the Way-shower. I prayed to follow him and to recognize my true nature as God's perfect child. In addition to the Sunday services I attended whenever possible, I learned to study daily the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly, reading from the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I found, through proper application of the truths contained in these two textbooks, a clear and precise guide for spiritual living that fills completely our daily needs. There is nothing lacking in their wonderful revelation.
