A few years ago in September, shortly after I had resumed my position as music teacher at our school, I was participating one day with a class of third graders in a movement activity. Suddenly I tripped and landed heavily on the hard concrete floor of my classroom. The children naturally were concerned, but I assured them I was all right. With their help I got to a chair, and I was able to complete the class session. During that time the pain was overwhelming, and I prayed silently, affirming God's ever-presence.
As it was the lunch period, I felt I must get to my home, which was nearby. I reached my car and drove home. Later I knew that this had been possible only through the uplifting help of God.
Arriving home, I called a Christian Science practitioner for help. I now believe that after calling the practitioner I unwittingly let up in my praying, for I was not able to return to school as I had planned. When I called the school, the nurse answered the phone and said she would report the accident to the school's insurance company immediately.
