Poems

No matter . . .

From the December 1984 issue of The Christian Science Journal

No matter how critical the
disease,
no matter how unbending the
immovable wall
(of hatred, fear, frustration),
no matter what material sense tries
to shout,
I can be patient, Father.

No matter what blackness
seems to engulf,
I will be patient,
wait on You.

For,
"I had fainted, unless
I had believed
to see the goodness
of the Lord
in the land of
the living."Psalms 27:13.

Thus
there is a way—
out.
We can look away,
away from the discord and strife
into the healing calm of
the Way,
the Truth,
the Life,
the Love
where our answers are waiting,
where there is
no matter.
