It has been much too long since I last expressed my gratitude in the periodicals for the many blessings Christian Science has brought forth in my life. They are more than I can give account of in this testimony. However, two stand out.
One time, two of my grandchildren spent a day with me. When it was time for them to go home, their brother came for them. He was in a hurry, so they quite literally threw their skateboards and scooter in the garage, and closed the door all but a crack as they left. (Usually they placed their toys in a box by the garage door.) Later, when I went out to close the door for the night, I did not turn on the light, as I could see by the light coming through the crack.
Apparently, after the children had tossed their skateboards into the garage, the boards had rolled to the steps which go from the house to the garage. As I stepped down I landed on one and was thrown forcefully against the concrete steps, where I struck my back, head, and arm. Then, as I attempted to get up, I stepped on the second one. This made me bang into the car and the scooter and hit my head on the solid frame of the door. I said aloud, "Dear God, help me!" I was alone, and the material evidence of injured bones seemed serious and frightening. Just then the Lord's Prayer flooded my thought. In quiet assurance I knew I was not alone. The garage seemed filled with the warmth of God's love.
