Because I have received so much inspiration and comfort over the years from the articles and testimonies appearing in the Christian Science periodicals, I wish to express my gratitude by sharing the following healings.
One day I was studying some passages in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy that discuss the fallacy that food has power to harm or cure the body. Suddenly I realized with much joy and anticipation that I could be healed of a long-standing belief that I could not eat fish because it caused much discomfort. Although I had experienced wonderful healings since becoming a Christian Scientist, this particular situation had not been addressed; I had simply not eaten fish of any kind.
I considered deeply the truth of this passage from Science and Health: "If mortals think that food disturbs the harmonious functions of mind and body, either the food or this thought must be dispensed with, for the penalty is coupled with the belief. Which shall it be? If this decision be left to Christian Science, it will be given in behalf of the control of Mind over this belief and every erroneous belief, or material condition." I realized I had nothing to fear, and a permanent healing followed. I have now for many years partaken of seafood with no harm whatsoever.
