A Specific Idea on how my branch church in Richardson, Texas, could bless our community kept coming to thought. It was to ask our neighborhood library if we could set up a display of the Traveling Historical Bible Exhibit available from The Mother Church. Each exhibit consists of several early Bible translations and photographs of first editions, including the King James Bible, Matthews Bible, Coverdale Bible, and the Great Bible. These can be loaned out to branch churches and societies by the Church History Department My schedule was quite full, so I did not act on this idea right away. Several months went by. It seemed appropriate to have it in place for National Bible Week in November. But by now it was already fall.
Then one day it was as if someone whispered loudly right into my ear, just to get my attention. I stopped what I was doing. I opened Miscellaneous Writings, and what I read was impelling. Mary Baker Eddy writes: "God is the fountain of light, and He illumines one's way when one is obedient. The disobedient make their moves before God makes His, or make them too late to follow Him. Be sure that God directs your way; then, hasten to follow under every circumstance." Mis., p, 117 There was no doubt in my mind that this activity was God-directed.
Usually these exhibits are booked a year in advance. But when I called to inquire into reserving an exhibit, I found there had been a cancellation just the day before. So I was able to reserve the only available one for the next month—November. I immediately called our local library. The library was willing to host the exhibit.
