Letters & Conversations

LETTERS

From the September 2003 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When the May Journal arrived, its beautiful picture of the sea's wave and the sun reflected on it made me want to read it right away, and the article by Peter Tonge, "Going forward, never backward" [pp. 49–51] was the first one that I opened to.

What an encouraging article it is for us who are in Zimbabwe, where everything seems to be going backward and never forward. No bread, sugar, petrol, cooking oil, soap; electricity cuts—the list is endless.

I had enjoyed his articles on organic gardening in The Christian Science Monitor for many years, and I have used those ideas on our small farm for over 30 years. We have been able to keep farming, as they helped so much.
