On Monday, Mary Ridgway, Clerk of The Mother Church, welcomed conference attendees in Berlin, Boston, and on the Internet to a program titled, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures—Transforming Lives, Transforming the Universe."
: For this meeting, we have taken as our keynote Mary Baker Eddy's words: "The fact remains, that the textbook of Christian Science is transforming the universe." Miscellaneous Writings 1883-1896, p. 372. Since its publication over 125 years ago, Science and Health has been healing and transforming the lives of millions of its readers. Many of us would not be here today if it weren't for the life-changing ideas we've glimpsed in this book.
The world is calling out for help, for healing. Indeed, it's reaching out for the peace and restoration that come through Jesus' promised Comforter. And the ways in which this meeting can help those hungering hearts find what they are seeking are boundless. Jesus says, "Freely ye have received, freely give." Matt. 10:8. This is the blessing and the promise of this 2003 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church & Conference.
