Participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, and the Ukraine bask in freedom and spirituality

From the September 2003 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Imagine for a moment that you are going to attend a meeting in a far-away country, and this will be your first time abroad. When you get to the conference, not only are there many likeminded people who speak your language, but you find out that each presentation in the conference will be interpreted into your own language. The gratitude that you would feel can probably give you an idea of how loved the Russian-speaking attendees felt at 2003 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church & Conference in Berlin.

On Tuesday we sat on the grass under a birch tree, and there I recorded some of their comments and impressions about Annual Meeting.

"I found Christian Science only three months ago. I had been looking for answers, and only after I found the book Science and Health, did I understand that I had found what I had been seeking for a long time. I have learned so much here. First of all, about the Berlin Wall. We had been taught a different reason for its existence."
