From deep in my heart comes gratitude for Christian Science Reading Rooms and for the unselfish individuals who staff them so that the healing comfort of Christian Science is readily available in communities all over the world.
When my husband and I were in Nuremberg, Germany, a few years ago, I awoke one morning feeling very ill. My vision was severely distorted, too. We had planned a full day of preparation for a business trip to Vienna the next morning. A tight schedule gave us no choice but to carry on with our errands.
As my husband drove us around town, he spoke reassuringly about the fact that God is the only cause, and that He does not cause harm to His children. I knew from lifelong experience that I could depend on Christian Science to heal me. But as comforting as all this was, Christly compassion expressed by others was also a significant part of this experience.
