One of the most profound truths in the Bible is conveyed in this question: “Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord” (Jeremiah 23:24). Answered correctly and with spiritual understanding, it can lead to inspiration that heals quickly and completely.
Many times, when I have struggled with discomfort or inharmony in the body, this statement has come to my aid. When I have answered this question decisively in the affirmative, this truth has broken the mesmerism of habitually thinking about the body and its many claims of malfunction, inflammation, and pain. It reveals that we are all, in reality, filled with the spiritual goodness of God and His Christ.
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy defines Christ as “the divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error” (p. 583). Jesus embodied the Christ and showed us how this divine influence is active in human consciousness. Through the power of the Christ, his divine nature, he did more spiritual healing works than anyone else has ever done.
