“Unstoppably bright”— the universal scope of the Easter message

From the April 2022 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It would be difficult to read the following compilation of short articles on Easter by Christian Science teachers from around the world without being struck by how many galvanizing R words convey the meaning of this holiday. Among them: rebirth, rededication, redemption, rising, resurrection. The theme of “wiping away tears,” feeling relief from grief and doubt, is particularly relevant at this time in human history. The idea that, ultimately, the essential message of Easter is not sad but joyous and holy may be startling. But it’s important to understand. These articles help us welcome this truth but also illustrate how Easter becomes a call to action, a time to capably rise up as followers of Christ Jesus and open our eyes to the stunning significance of Christian healing.
