I am so grateful for a physical healing I had several years ago.
I was an elementary school teacher at the time, and as I began my summer vacation I was flooded with responsibilities and changes. I had to begin preparations to move to a different grade and classroom in the coming school year, would soon be welcoming my adult daughter and her young family into our home for six months, and continued to serve as Second Reader for Sunday services at my church.
As my second week of vacation progressed, I awoke one day with severe pain in my joints and legs and was barely able to make it up and down a short flight of stairs to let the dog out. When I sat down to read the Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly, I glanced down at my leg and saw an alarming bug bite. We lived in a woodsy area that our dog was constantly exploring, and from what I knew of Lyme disease it seemed to me I was experiencing the symptoms associated with it.
