One day I felt a severe pain in my abdomen. The pain persisted and became alarming, so I prayed with the support of a Christian Science practitioner. A family member had passed on from an abdominal condition, and I felt fear settle in like a dense fog.
I dug into the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Healing truths began to dawn in my thought. I learned that spiritual man isn’t subject to disease and death, but is the divine idea of God, Mind, reflecting Him.
Science and Health defines “Kingdom of Heaven” as “the reign of harmony in divine Science; the realm of unerring, eternal, and omnipotent Mind; the atmosphere of Spirit, where Soul is supreme” (p. 590). It became clear that God’s kingdom doesn’t include pain or disease, and all that God creates dwells in His kingdom. I could see then that healing was inevitable.
