Trusting God with decisions

From the July 2024 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Making decisions can involve the promise of new adventures and opportunities. At the same time it can feel overwhelming. Maybe we feel that way because we don’t want to make a wrong choice, but in fact, the only real choice we ever need to make is whether to listen to God, to become conscious of our oneness with God. This is trusting in the Divine, and it can’t lead us astray.

I often ask myself whether I really trust God. What does that mean?

During the summer of 2022, our family had a decision to make. My husband’s graduate program included a study abroad component and I was invited to join him. This sounded fun—we’re busy parents of young kids. And it would be a special treat to honor our ten-year wedding anniversary.
