My teenage son had been threatened by a fellow classmate and urged to engage in a fistfight after school. He hardly knew the other student, but agreed to meet him—to face him and tell him there wouldn’t be any fight.
My son regularly attended the Christian Science Sunday School. From his daily study of the Bible and the discussions in class, he had been learning that prayer is an effective spiritual tool in solving problems—or facing down the “enemy”—big or small, in any form.
My son stood face to face with his fellow classmate, never doubting God’s control of the situation.
