I am grateful to share a healing of my leg and foot, which had become increasingly swollen over time. With the condition not getting any better, I turned to God, my Father-Mother, in prayer to free my thought from fear.
For over fifty years, I have found health and true joy in living my life as a student of Christian Science. There is always a call to learn more in order to purify thought and to leave behind the mortal sense of self and a universe of mortal belief. This challenge seemed to be one of those opportunities.
Mary Baker Eddy, the Founder of Christian Science, writes this about personal growth: “Humility is the stepping-stone to a higher recognition of Deity. The mounting sense gathers fresh forms and strange fire from the ashes of dissolving self, and drops the world” (Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, p. 1). Later in the same book she says: “Mortal man’s repentance and absolute abandonment of sin finally dissolves all supposed material life or physical sensation” (p. 205).
