Why is this and what can we do to help reverse this world trend? We are taught in Christian Science that material conditions are the result of thinking and that these conditions can be ameliorated, altered, and healed by changing the mental climate.

Throughout the centuries, before and after the star in the East heralded Christ Jesus' birth, powerful spiritual facts concerning God and man's eternal unity with Him have, like mental thunderbolts, been stirring dormant human consciousness to transform it from a material to a spiritual basis. The chemicalization we are witnessing today is the direct result of the mortal, or carnal, mind's age-old resistance to this healthy overturning.
