Testimonies of Healing

In 1909, the star of the brightest hope I have ever known dawned upon my life. I heard of the healing of an artist in New York City who had been raised from chronic invalidism to radiant health by the application of Christian Science.

" Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. " With all my heart I am grateful to be privileged to testify to the blessings which this passage has brought me.

I first heard of Christian Science when I was about nine or ten years of age. My mother became interested about that time and later joined a Christian Science church; consequently I had Christian Science treatment for physical ills, and as I grew older occasionally attended the church and lectures.

When Christian Science came to my notice I was suffering intensely from double curvature of the spine, internal paralysis, and other complications, the result of injuries received several years previously. Specialists of homeopathy allopathy, and osteopathy had treated me, but with no beneficial result.

Christian Science is the greatest blessing that has come into my life. I have proved it to be truly a "pearl of great price.

Christian Science has been my only physician for over eight years. When I found this truth I was sick both mentally and physically.

It is with a deep sense of humility that I express my gratitude for Christian Science. I was never considered a very strong child, and as time went on and I grew to womanhood my health began to fail.

I wish to express my thanks for Christian Science. I am grateful beyond words for the truth which it teaches, and can never sufficiently thank the teacher and the practitioners who have so lovingly and patiently helped me to know this truth.

For twenty-one years I suffered from gallstone cramp, sciatica, and rheumatism; so that for weeks I was confined to my bed, suffering intense pain. To this, some years later, was added asthma, which became so aggravated that I could hardly move about even on level ground.

A few years ago, while living in the home of a Christian Scientist, I received a telegram from a friend of my parents which read, "Come, your father and mother seriously ill. " Intense fear immediately overwhelmed me, but as I packed my bag I knew that I must overcome that fear in order to be of service when I reached home, about one hundred miles away.
