Testimonies of Healing

When my eyes were first opened to the truth as taught in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I experienced the healing of an astigmatic condition of the eyes, and was enabled to put aside my glasses. For several years I was a loyal student of Mrs.

I wish to express my gratitude for the joy and peace that Christian Science has brought into my life. About four years ago, when my husband and I, with two little children, were preparing to go East, I was taken very ill; in fact, I was stricken quite helpless.

When I was a child my mother was healed by Christian Science. She at once took up its study and applied its rules in our home.

It is over ten years since I first heard of Christian Science, and it would be impossible to express my gratitude for what it has done for me and for my family. Christian Science found me in a very serious condition.

I feel impelled to thank God for all the blessings which it has been my privilege to experience in the three years during which I have studied Christian Science. Although I was brought up very religiously, I was never able to find what really satisfied me.

For many years I have longed to contribute my quota of gratitude for the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science, but I have never felt I had anything important enough to write about compared to the many marvelous testimonies I have been reading in the periodicals during this time. Since giving a testimony on the healing of seasickness and finding many people grateful to have heard it, I venture to write it.

This testimony is given in grateful recognition of abundant blessings received through the study of Mrs. Eddy's writings, and with the hope that some one may thereby benefited as I have been in reading the testimonies of others.

Christian Science helps one in so many ways it is difficult to know where to begin to tell of the many benefits received. It is ten years since I was instantaneously cured of a troublesome disease; and not a day has passed since then without some proof of the healing power of Truth.

Three years ago I became ill. A physician diagnosed the case as typhus fever accompanied by inflamed membrane of the brain.

The most wonderful blessing which has come to my consciousness through the study of Christian Science is the knowledge that there is only one Church founded on the Christ, Truth. As I was brought up in a small town where there were many denominations, each representing itself as the right one, it took several years' study for me to realize clearly this healing truth and to know that man-made theories and doctrines are but beliefs of mortal mind, not a part of God's law and government.
