Testimonies of Healing

It is four years since I began to study Christian Science. I have touched only the hem of Christ's garment, but this little understanding of Truth has changed all my life and character.

I give the following testimony in loving gratitude to God for the exemplification of the healing Word through His beloved Son, and for the further explanation thereof as set forth in the writings of His messenger to this age,—our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.

The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have so often lifted me from the depths that gratitude impels me to add mine to the stream of comfort which flows forth unceasingly, reaching to the farthest corners of the globe. The physical healings experienced —and they have been many—are cause for deep gratitude; but the joy that has come into my life through the unlocking of the Bible eclipses all else.

I wish to express my deepest gratitude for our dear Leader's loving wisdom in providing the Lesson-Sermons for our daily help and guidance. I had occasion to be especially grateful for this wise provision in an experience which came to me not long ago.

I have had many proofs of God's unfailing protection. I have testified of an instantaneous healing after a headlong plunge downstairs sufficient to break the neck.

In reading the many testimonies at the end of the Christian Science textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was convinced they must be true, or people would not write and subscribe to such statements.

In the year 1904, I became interested in Christian Science. Since then God has been my only Physician.

It is with a feeling of deepest gratitude that I wish to testify to the beautiful healing power of Christian Science, as demonstrated to me through the healing of smallpox. With the kind and loving help of a practitioner, all signs of the disease disappeared.

With a heart filled with gratitude for the life of our inspired Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who lived so close to God that she could show us how to walk in the footsteps of Christ Jesus, this testimony is offered. About six years ago, as I was about to take a higher step in the demonstration of Christian Science, I was suddenly stricken with what physicians call an incurable disease.

At the time Christian Science was recommended to me I was suffering from inflammatory rheumatism for which the doctors could give me no relief. Immediately after Christian Science treatments were started I felt much better in every way, and was soon completely healed.
