Testimonies of Healing
I want to express my deep gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. I became interested in it nearly six years ago, and in a few treatments was healed of neuritis in my right arm.
It is now more than ten years since I received my first healing in Christian Science. From early childhood I had suffered from indigestion; but as I was treated hygienically neither my parents nor I feared a fatal termination of my ailment.
Hoping my testimony will benefit some one who is seeking the light, I should like to tell how I was led and guided in my mental journey from the darkness of night to the marvelous light of day. When I was quite a little girl my grandmother came to live with us.
Christian Science was presented to me a little over two years ago, at a time of great need. I was suffering from what the medical profession called muscular rheumatism, neuritis, and a host of minor ailments.
I am indeed grateful to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who revealed the truth to mankind, not only for the many healings that my family and I have received, but also for the spiritual uplift; and I desire to state briefly two of the many blessings that I have experienced. In 1918, I was ill with influenza.
Though I can never adequately describe what Christian Science has done for me, I should like to express my gratitude for it through the periodicals. I did not come to Christian Science for healing; in fact, I am afraid I did not believe in the healing.
About ten years ago I became a great sufferer from eczema, my face becoming entirely covered. At first I used all sorts of patent remedies, without any relief.
A few months ago we were faced with a difficult problem when our four-year-old son was taken very ill. We called a Christian Science practitioner, but as there was no visible change in the next forty-eight hours, fear crept in and overpowered us.
My occupation for many years was that of chauffeur, and I have driven a taxi-car. About two years ago I had a nervous breakdown, and the doctor forbade me to work.
For the past fourteen years Christian Science has met my every need. It has been my only physician, and has brought me so many blessings that I should like to express my loving gratitude to God for all it has done for me.
