Testimonies of Healing
With a deep sense of gratitude I wish to testify to the blessings which I have been privileged to experience through God's infinite and omnipotent love. I had been suffering for twenty five years from chronic catarrh, which was accompanied by a terrible cough.
Christian Science was brought to my attention at a time of great physical suffering. I had met with an accident while yet in my early teens which resulted in the fracture of the right lower rib.
Having read many helpful testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, I should like to add mine, in the hope that it may prove helpful to others. When our baby was born, the doctor said her digestive organs were all wrong; and for four months and a half she could take no food at all, just having albumen water and whey.
To say that I am profoundly grateful for all the blessings that have come to me through the application of Christian Science seems quite inadequate to express my feelings. It is with the hope that others may benefit by my experience that I relate the facts connected with the complete healing of a so-called hopeless physical condition.
Through the study of Christian Science I have been changed from a discontented, ill tempered woman to a joyous, loving one; and it is with great gratitude to God that I send this testimony. Soon after I began the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, my baby was healed of a severe cold and fever in one treatment from a Christian Science practitioner, and with this healing I was freed from a load of anxiety and fear.
I first heard of Christian Science about fifteen years ago in London, and though I received help on one or two occasions and read a little of the literature at times, I did not understand it or turn to it wholly until I came to a place in my life where I knew that unless I had its help I could not go on. It was about four years ago that I found myself suffering from a mental and physical breakdown.
About the year 1914, after several years of a slow but certain decline in health, I contracted a very heavy cold; and failing to obtain help from local physicians, I went West in search of relief. There I sought advice from one who was considered the best lung specialist in that country, and was told that I was tubercular to an extreme degree; and practically no hope was held out for my recovery.
In 1915 I was, and had been for many years, a hospital nurse. In a home where I was nursing the conversation turned one evening after dinner to Christian Science.
I wish to testify that I was healed of valvular heart disease, five years ago, through Christian Science. At the time I went to a practitioner for help I was, to mortal sense, very near the end.
I hereby wish to testify that through Christian Science my dear mother was healed of a severe illness. In February, 1923, she had violent hemorrhages of the lungs.
