Testimonies of Healing
I am unable to express in words my gratitude for Christian Science. I am sixteen years old; and as my mother was a Christian Scientist when I was born, it is the only religion I have ever known.
One Saturday while I was playing golf, a box of so-called safety matches ignited in my hand and stuck in the palm. Refusing the great temptation to look at the result of the accident, I continued my game, all the time declaring what little of the truth I possessed.
So many times I have wanted to give my testimony in gratitude for all the good I have received during the past years through the study of Christian Science. It would be quite impossible to tell of all the many proofs I have had of God's goodness.
In December, 1913, one of our children became ill. We called a doctor, who diagnosed the case as erysipelas.
It is with a heart full of gratitude and love that I write of a demonstration of the protecting power of divine Mind which was made in our home. On Saturday morning, the twenty-ninth of October, my little twelve-year-old daughter came to me with a very sore throat.

From childhood I had a great desire to know more of the creator.
Six years ago, coming from Chile, South America, I stopped in New York, knowing nothing about Christian Science. A short time after my arrival a young lady came to the house where I was boarding, and from the first moment she attracted my attention by her healthy, happy appearance.
On page 283 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read, "Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action. " This passage brought me from darkness into the light of the understanding of Truth, into freedom; for I had been in bondage many years.
