Testimonies of Healing

With a heart full of gratitude I am writing this testimony. After struggling for years in a sea of doubt, looking for truth, I turned to Christian Science as a relief from many sorrows.

I came into Christian Science for physical healing, after being under the care of physicians for years and receiving no benefit. It healed me in one treatment of a condition of the glands of the neck which caused me constant suffering, and which had been pronounced incurable by three physicians.

It is with gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me that I send this testimony. Six years have passed since I took any medicine, whereas before I used it continually.

It is a great pleasure to confirm my wife's testimony as to her healing in Christian Science. For years she was under medical treatment; and the verdict of her own doctor, confirmed by a specialist, was that she must resign herself to being an invalid for the rest of her life.

In 1913 I first heard of Christian Science. A friend told me a little about it, and said many had been healed by it.

It is with the deepest gratitude that I testify to the blessings I have received in Christian Science Some thirty years ago I was sick, helpless, hopeless; and I often said if I could not be healed I was ready to die. In that hour of need a dear friend who had taken up the study of Christian Science came to me, and asked if I would not like to be healed as people were in the days of the apostles.

In the fall of 1914, following a series of business reverses, I turned to Christian Science to find relief from worry and spells of extreme despondency, often accompanied by suggestions of suicide. When I mentioned this trouble to a dear friend and student of Christian Science, she told me the next time I was so depressed to declare, "God is my life.

Two or three years before hearing of Christian Science I had ceased to attend church, and had also lost faith in materia medica during an illness which two doctors failed to diagnose. I had frequent attacks of pain, which usually kept me in bed for three or four days at a time.

One morning, about two years ago, my mother awoke with a very severe pain in her head, and did not seem able to remember things clearly. We were very much alarmed, but did not send for a physician.

For the past three years I have been attending the meetings of the Christian Science church and reading the works of Mrs. Eddy; and I wish to express my gratitude for the good I have received.
