Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science was brought to me about ten years ago by a friend, who had the loving desire to help me to be released from a trial under which I had suffered for many years. But it was not for physical relief that I began to study: the literature which my friend gave me, and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I borrowed from the local Reading Room, convinced me at once that a marvelous message of love had been given by God to this age.

It is impossible to express in words my heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science. It has, indeed, brought to me "a new heaven and a new earth;" for the realization of what God is, is changing my whole consciousness, bringing to me a greater sense of security, a deeper understanding of what Paul meant when he declared that neither "things present, nor things to come,.

I wish to add my testimony to those of others. About eight years ago I fell and broke two bones in my ankle.

Those who turn unreservedly to Christian Science will enjoy the fulfillment of the promises that it contains. With doubt, prejudice, and hesitation shadowing my attitude toward this revelation of God's Word, my thought wandered as did the children of Israel in the wilderness of materiality.

Among many benefits and healings I have experienced in Christian Science since I first came to know something of it, I think the demonstration over the smoking habit one of the most wonderful. For the benefit of those who indulge the tobacco habit and desire to be cured of it, I will relate my experience.

With a grateful heart I wish to testify to the blessings which I have received through Christian Science. My attention was called to this teaching by a friend who had been healed of a sickness of many years' standing.

About the time I entered high school, some seventeen years ago, I became acquainted with Christian Science through my mother, who, on her return from a near-by city, told me not only of the miraculous healing of a relative, whom the physicians had given up as incurable, but also of many other wonderful things that were being accomplished, which had heretofore been considered impossible. " How did you happen to become interested in Christian Science?" This is usually the first question asked a Christian Scientist by one who has just learned of his religious beliefs, and the question which every student of this great Science is happy to answer in sincerity and humility. All of us who have experienced the joy of a spiritual healing know what an overwhelming sense of gratitude it brings, and are glad to testify to the fact that God is "a very present help in trouble.

Fourteen years ago Christian Science came into my life. I was lying in a nursing home, a suffering, diseased, and utterly discouraged woman, when I first heard of Christian Science.
