Testimonies of Healing
To tell all that Christian Science has done for me would be almost as large an undertaking as to count the stars. One thing for which I am profoundly grateful is that I found "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
By showing us our true selfhood, made in our Father's likeness, the truths revealed in Christian Science satisfy abundantly; and we learn how to make the vision real. To emerge from the constant fear of weakness and pain, out of the limited human sense of being and accomplishment, into the freedom and true values of God's spiritual universe, is joy unspeakable.
I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me since I became interested in Christian Science. In November of 1913 I was taken seriously ill and was under the care of physicians for three months.
In taking advantage of the privilege of writing my testimony for the Christian Science periodicals the only difficulty is to know where to begin and where to stop. Christian Science has done so much for me and for my family that I could never adequately express my gratitude in words.
Recently I learned a lesson which has helped me, and which may be of service to some one else whose healing seems protracted. I was in an extremely nervous condition, and so constantly filled with fear that it seemed impossible to overcome it.
At a time when I was suffering from tubercular hip disease, I was requested to read to a lady who could not see. The book handed me was "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
Christian Science came into my life as the Comforter, showing me the way out of darkness into light. I had passed through a great sorrow and the religion I had loved afforded me no comfort.
I would like to add my testimony to the many I have read, and to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I suffered and doctored for three years on account of acute indigestion, until all material aid failed to relieve me.
It is over seven years since my first Christian Science healing. I had been attending the College of Music and was preparing a recital for graduation.
I wish to express my deep gratitude for all the benefits I have received since taking up the study of Christian Science. In October, 1899, my attention was first drawn to Christian Science, my mother having taken up the study as a last resort, for a chronic case of asthma of thirty years' standing, of which she was healed eventually by Christian Science.
