Testimonies of Healing
I desire to express my gratitude for Christian Science, and for the peace and happiness that have come into my experience through a better understanding of God as Life, Truth, and Love. Nine years ago I was in a state of semi-invalidism, under the constant care of physicians, who could give me only temporary relief, and no hope of my being any stronger.
God is my strength and my life, an ever present help in time of trouble. This was not realized by me until I learned it through the understanding of Truth, as taught by Christian Science.
It is with a great sense of gratitude to God and our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, that I am writing this testimony of many physical healings following an improved belief in, and a more spiritual understanding of, the allness of God and man's relationship to divine Principle, God. I am grateful for the privilege of giving to the world, through the pages of our periodicals, a glimpse of some of the blessings received by the study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
Many years ago, three members of our family developed tuberculosis in varying forms. The illness of one followed rather closely upon the other, until sorrow, despair, and hopelessness were expressed on every side.
May the sufferer who reads the story of my healing look up with new hope, for the same light and health and joy which came to me from the outstretched arms of Christian Science await him. From a child I was constantly under medical treatment.
Gratefully and gladly I bear witness to the fact that the Word of God heals the sick, and that it is the Word of God alone which does this work. In the midst of a very busy life, being interested in many things that are humanly called good, I broke down with what the physicians called a lack—a lack of red blood, or anæmia—and they said it was necessary to be built up.
In December, 1915, my little grandson, two and a half years old, was very ill. A physician was called and he pronounced it a bad case of diphtheria and membranous croup; therefore, a second physician was called.
I wish to express my gratitude for the innumerable blessings and healings that have come to me and to my family, through Christian Science. I am always especially grateful when [ think of the health, hope, and freedom from fear which even a little understanding of Christian Science brings to an inexperienced mother of little children, it was when our three older children were quite small that Christian Science was first brought to my attention.
Any one who has experienced the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science, usually finds it hard to express in words the gratitude that follows such a blessing. It has been said that "man's extremity is God's opportunity.
As a member of The Mother Church, and First Reader in our local Christian Science Society. I wish to confirm the testimony of healing submitted to you by my mother.
