Testimonies of Healing

I wish to express my gratitude at this time for the first healing that I experienced in Christian Science, which occurred about sixteen years ago. For many years I had been a great sufferer from stomach trouble, which seemed to grow worse rapidly.

In gratitude for the great help that I have received in reading of the many healings published in our periodicals, I take great pleasure in adding to these testimonies. In my youth I had what in the old fashioned way were called chills and fever, the chills returning at regular intervals and causing great suffering.

When Christian Science was brought to my home I was in a very discordant condition, suffering from depression and many other ailments. I began at once to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and as I continued to read I was filled with hope and joy to know that God is an ever present help.

Words cannot express what Christian Science has meant to me in the last fifteen years. My first healing was of a difficulty with which I had suffered for two years.

It is a great pleasure to give this testimony of the marvelous care and healing power of God. My first experience of Christian Science healing came over twenty years ago; and I wish to state that God's care and protection have been with me ever since.

I have very great reason to be grateful to Christian Science for the wonderful help and guidance I have received through its teaching. For the past several years it has met my every need.

The following is one of many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science which I have had since turning to it, ten years ago. I was riding beside the driver in the front seat of an automobile, and we were descending a grade toward a cross street upon which street cars ran.

The first touch of the transforming power of Truth came to me through the healing of my wife, who attending physicians said could never recover, although everything that medical practice could do had been done, and their efforts had been faithful and untiring over a period of years. Right at that time a dear friend urged us to try Christian Science, and a practitioner was called by telephone, with the result that my wife was almost instantaneously healed.

In 1915 Christian Science was suggested to me as a chance to save the life of our very delicate baby boy. Then I repulsed it; indeed, I remember saying I never wished to hear it mentioned again.

At a time when all material means resorted to had failed, and it was said I had but few weeks to live, we turned to Christian Science; and I was quickly healed of what had been pronounced tuberculosis by physicians whose care I had been under continuously for a very long time. I had suffered for a number of years, not knowing what it meant to be completely free from pain, or distress of some kind, and manifesting alarming symptoms so frequently that fear seemed a constant companion.
