Testimonies of Healing

In Revelation we read, "These are they which came out of great tribulation;" and I have thought how apropos this statement is to the experience of many Christian Scientists, I being one who has come out of the torture of Hades itself. Of one thing I am sure,—if I could be freed through Christian Science, any one can.

Having so often received benefit from reading the testimonies of others, I have often wished to express my gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy, for the glorious truth as it is revealed to us in Christian Science, by giving to others my testimony of what Truth has done for me.

In a recent public lecture on Christian Science by a member of the Board of Lectureship of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, it was explained that when a patient is healed by the application of God's law as revealed in Christian Science, he generally knows that he is healed, that the healing is of God, and he gives to God the glory, with the joy and gratitude which always follow spiritual healing. This part of the lecture brought to me a renewed sense of thankfulness that my first personal experience with Christian Science healing had been unmistakably of that description.

Christian Science has brought to me a number of blessings, for all of which I am very grateful. Through its study I have been enlightened enough to be able to depend upon God, divine Love, for help in every instance.

As a student of Christian Science during the past fifteen years, many-blessings have come to me, many practical proofs of the healing power and ever present care and guidance of divine Love. I was healed of consumption after all material means had failed.

I wish to express my gratitude at this time for the first healing that I experienced in Christian Science, which occurred about sixteen years ago. For many years I had been a great sufferer from stomach trouble, which seemed to grow worse rapidly.

In gratitude for the great help that I have received in reading of the many healings published in our periodicals, I take great pleasure in adding to these testimonies. In my youth I had what in the old fashioned way were called chills and fever, the chills returning at regular intervals and causing great suffering.

When Christian Science was brought to my home I was in a very discordant condition, suffering from depression and many other ailments. I began at once to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and as I continued to read I was filled with hope and joy to know that God is an ever present help.

Words cannot express what Christian Science has meant to me in the last fifteen years. My first healing was of a difficulty with which I had suffered for two years.

It is a great pleasure to give this testimony of the marvelous care and healing power of God. My first experience of Christian Science healing came over twenty years ago; and I wish to state that God's care and protection have been with me ever since.
