Testimonies of Healing

There are no words that will adequately express the deep debt of gratitude I owe to Christian Science for the innumerable blessings it has brought to me and mine. Since taking up the study of this beautiful religion, the years have been crowned with the goodness and the love of God, not because of any change in His attitude towards us, but because Christian Science is teaching us to know Him aright.

I wish to give a testimony of healing I received through Christian Science about eight years ago. I suffered with a nervous disorder which caused heart trouble.

I take great pleasure in giving my testimony for what Christian Science has done for me and my family. I am indeed grateful for the wonderful healing.

It is with great joy and a deep sense of appreciation that I tell of the healing power of Christian Science in my own experience. Throughout girlhood I had much difficulty with my throat, and as I grew older this seemed to increase rather than lessen.

In loving gratitude to God for this beautiful truth, I am giving this testimony. I have been healed of a very severe case of pneumonia through Christian Science.

Up to the time when I became interested in the subject of Christian Science, I was the victim of nervous breakdown from which I had suffered three attacks, the first one occurring during my senior year at college. Although friends and relatives urged me to try Christian Science for relief, I ignored their advice, like many others who have not understood that God is the only healing power.

The testimonies of others have so often given me fresh inspiration and courage, have so often helped me to stop and count my own blessings, that I wish to express gratitude for a few of the many blessings Christian Science has brought to me. Among the physical healings which have taken place in our family since taking up the study of Christian Science, about five years ago, are those of influenza, chronic constipation, cuts, burns, sprains, several so-called children's diseases, and many, many others.

That Jesus' precepts of nineteen hundred years ago are being successfully practiced to-day was recently proved to me by the demonstration over typhoid, double pneumonia. The disease assumed its worst form; and would probably have proved fatal under medical treatment.

It is with joy and gratitude that I testify to what Christian Science has done for me. I was an extremely nervous child, so much so that I was unable to attend the public schools; and as this was considered an evidence of ill health, I was almost constantly under the care of a physician.

Four years ago, after I had tried different ways and means to be relieved from bodily suffering, a faithful friend called my attention to the teaching of Christian Science. After some opposition I decided to try it, with the thought that if this teaching were helpful, it was meant for me as well as for others; if it did not afford any help, I could put it aside again— but that I would find out and be convinced.
