
Testimonies of Healing
With a deep sense of gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy, I should like to testify to the great blessings which the teachings of Christian Science have brought to my family and me.
All through childhood and young girlhood I was bothered with kidney trouble. Every kind of remedy we heard of we tried,—all to no avail.
My heart overflows with gratitude and love to God and to our faithful Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the blessings I have received through an understanding of God as Love, made possible by the truth, as revealed and demonstrated in Christian Science.
It is fifteen years this spring since I began the study of Christian Science. During that winter I had had a severe attack of grippe, which had left me in what seemed to be a very weakened condition and with a cough which grew steadily worse.
When first I heard of Christian Science I was very ill and very unhappy. I had been suffering from an internal trouble for years.
Christian Science was brought to my notice about ten years ago by a Christian Scientist. I had heard of it before; but on this occasion I began to study it, and to practice it by demonstrating its truths.
For many years I have proved the truth of Christian Science in innumerable ways. Mental unrest and physical ills have been overcome by it.
Many of the testimonies recently published in the Journal and Sentinel have expressed the various writers' sense of gratitude for the Christian Science practitioners. I am especially glad to see this, because we cannot be too grateful for the consecrated, loving, tireless work done by many of these practitioners, the world over.
One morning I awoke with intense pain in both arms, especially in the left arm and hand, which rendered me incapable of dressing myself. As a dressmaker came to the house that day, I forced myself to help somewhat; but I experienced great difficulty, as my fingers were very stiff and I suffered intense pain.
