Testimonies of Healing
It is with a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science that I add my testimony to the healing power of Truth. I was practically an invalid, as the result of a surgical operation, when Christian Science was brought to my notice by a stranger, who, knowing my need, gave me the "cup of cold water in Christ's name," proving that "those ready for the "those ready for the blessing you impart will give thanks," as Mrs.
I cannot find words to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me. It is now eighteen months since Christian Science was brought to my notice.
I suffered for several years with neuralgic headaches, which no medicine or doctor seemed to be able to cure. Our family physician finally advised me to come to his office for an X-ray examination of my head.
On December 4, 1913, a specialist pronounced my case to be tuberculosis in a very advanced condition, and said that immediate outdoor treatment must be commenced in a shelter on my lawn. This gentleman informed my partner that I could not recover; that I would pass on within six months.
Christian Science has been the source of much comfort during the past two years. I am very grateful for a better understanding of God as divine Principle, the Rock of our salvation, as revealed in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
It was in 1898 that I first began the study of Christian Science, and from that time to the present I have daily endeavored to put in practice the understanding gained from the Bible and from our Leader's writings. To-day, I can say that with me the conviction that this Science is the truth has become increasingly stronger with the passage of the years.
For me to try to express my gratitude for my knowledge of Christian Science, in words, would be like trying to write the word "gratitude" as many times as I am capable of thinking it. Christian Science is to me like arithmetic in that I study it to use it, and do not expect to get any benefit from my study if I fail to apply what I learn.
The winter of 1878-79 I spent as a guest in the home of an uncle in whose family was an invalid daughter. All medical help had failed to relieve or heal, and discouragement naturally followed.
Words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science. For years I had been a semi-invalid.
God is good! He is "a very present help in trouble. " Always, when we go to Him with love and understanding, He heals and saves us, for He is Life.
