Testimonies of Healing

When I became interested in Christian Science I was to mortal sense a physical wreck, and burdened with all the sins known to mortal mind; yet I did not come into Science for the healing of any of these things. A friend invited me to attend Sunday services with him, and not knowing what church he was in the habit of attending I accepted the invitation.

I should like to express some of the gratitude which feel for all the help I have had in Christian Science since I began the study of it six years ago, not with a view to physical healing, but to find out what it was about and whether it was the truth. In a few months I was healed of several ailments which I had been told were chronic, in some cases with help from a practitioner and in others merely through studying the Bible together with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

I wish to express my great thankfulness for all the good that has come into my life since I got the opportunity, eight years ago to learn about Christian Science. I did not turn to it on account of physical illness, although I had been delicate since childhood, had been treated by doctors, and had gone through several operations.

I turned to God for healing in a time of great stress, yet the spiritual uplift has been of so much greater value that in my joy the past ills are often forgotten until I see some other wanderer groping in the darkness. Over two years ago after seeking for years in every direction for relief from a legion of ills, and being brought to the very end of mortal existence, as it were, I turned unreservedly to Christian Science for help and almost instantaneously was entirely relieved of all symptoms of cancer of the stomach.

This testimony is given in loving gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. When I became interested in this teaching I had been wearing glasses for over twenty years for what one of the best specialists in Providence called astigmatism.

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the healing of an affliction of the feet known as broken arches. I had been treated for this trouble by the best specialists available without any good effect whatever.

About sixteen years ago I became afflicted with paralysis, with other complications, such as gall trouble, goiter, chronic appendicitis, and bowel disorder. A number of reputable physicians were consulted.

With a heart overflowing with gratitude, I should like to tell a little of what Christian Science has done for me. After years of searching and longing for the truth it came to me as a glorious revelation of the new heaven and the new earth.

Christian Science has wrought a remarkable transformation in my experience. It has healed me of sin and sickness in many forms, but I am convinced that the ability to aid others is the greatest blessing it gives.
