Testimonies of Healing

I would like to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I have been healed of many ills, especially of a stomach disorder for which I was under medical treatment many years without receiving any benefit.

O happy day, when Christian Science comes to us and clears away the terrors of evil, and as the new day dawns, we find ourselves in its light pure, perfect, as God's children. It was the happiest day of my life when the light of Truth was given to me some ten years ago at a time when, despairing of life, I asked the help of a practitioner who kindly helped me to realize that God is Love, that man, as His child, is perfect, and that as I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

Although I have often expressed my gratitude for Christian Science at our Wednesday evening meetings, I wish to cancel an account of apathy, lethargy, or procrastination, through the periodicals which our Leader so wisely provided. The object of my investigation of Christian Science was physical healing.

I wish to express my thankfulness to God for all the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science, and to tell of one healing in particular. Five months previous to the birth of our son, I was helping my husband move some sections of heavy flooring.

Over five years ago I was healed by Christian Science of a bowel trouble for which medicine had been taken as long as I can remember. I have not used any material remedies since, while previous to my healing not a day passed without resorting to them in some form or other.

I wish that I could express the gratitude which seeks for expression in regard to my health. While visiting in the northern part of the state I was out walking after a heavy rain which had made the ground very slippery, and I fell, striking my right hand and apparently breaking two bones.

It is with a heart filled with the deepest gratitude that I take this opportunity to write a few lines in appreciation of the good I have received from reading testimonies as given in the Sentinel and Journal. At the time I became interested in Christian Science, I had not been in a church for twelve years, because I had come to the conclusion that it made no difference how much I prayed, my prayers were never answered; therefore I quit going to church and finally got as bad as the worst of them.

After receiving so many benefits through Christian Science, it seems that I should express my gratitude for some of them. I was healed through Christian Science, in one treatment, of acute and chronic inflammation of the bladder and kidneys from which I had suffered since childhood.

During many years it has been my intention to give my testimony in deep gratitude for all that I have received through Christian Science. I had always enjoyed very good health, but in the year 1909 I was suddenly taken very ill with hemorrhage of the brain.

I feel that I should give a testimony as to the results which have come to me and mine through the study and practice of Christian Science. When I first decided to try Christian Science, I had come to the point where it seemed to me that I would be better off if I were dead.
