Testimonies of Healing

I am glad I can testify to my sister's healing. The attending physician said to me that he would be glad to hear of her recovery, but that he had no hope, and that medical science could not cure her; but, thanks be to God, she is healed.

We came into Christian Science, not for physical healing, but because upon investigation we found it to be the most wonderful, beautiful truth we had ever known. My husband and I began studying it together, and we entered our four-year-old boy at the Sunday school of First Church of Christ, Scientist, at Elgin, Illinois.

It is with a deep sense of thankfulness that I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to God for the many blessings bestowed on me through the teachings of Christian Science. I was enabled,, more than a year ago, to lay off glasses which had been worn for over sixteen years, experiencing a wonderful comfort, such as I had never before known.

Although words seem inadequate to express my thankfulness to God and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for the many blessings that have come to me and to the members of my family through Christian Science, I am sending this testimony with the hope that it will benefit some one who may be seeking the truth.

I am thankful for this opportunity to testify as to why and how I came to take up the study of Christian Science. About ten years ago, according to mortal belief and my attending physician, family, and friends, I had descended into "the valley of the shadow of death.

About four years ago I was stricken with peritonitis and gastritis and later with walking typhoid and tonsillitis, so that I became greatly reduced in weight. I was healed through Christian Science treatment, and for this healing I am very thankful to God and grateful to Mrs.

In recognition of benefits received from Christian Science, I desire to acknowledge with gratitude my sincere and loyal adherence to Truth. After two of Chicago's most noted specialists on nervous diseases had declared their powerlessness to help me, I was lovingly led to Christian Science.

I have known of Christian Science ever since childhood, and have had many proofs of God's unfailing care. So much benefit has been received from reading the testimonies in the Journal and the Sentinel, and I have so many things to be grateful for, that I must give to others if I would receive blessings.

It is five years since we took up the study of Christian Science, and during this time it has been our only help in sickness or trouble of any kind. It has been the greatest blessing that has come into our life, for it has given us a God that we know is All-in-all, a God who is Love.

I desire to express my thankfulness to God for Christian Science, and my gratitude to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder.
