Testimonies of Healing

Through Christian Science I have received that for which I vainly sought fifteen years in medical science. I was suffering from what the doctors pronounced an incurable disease of the stomach.

Words are inadequate to express my thankfulness to God for what He has done for me. When my baby was born the attending physician thought the child would never see.

With deepest gratitude I testify to the healing power of divine Love. I turned to Christian Science about three years ago, seeking relief from very severe spells of nervous headache from which I had endured much suffering for about ten years, and was healed in five treatments.

Having been interested in Christian Science for over nine years, I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings it has brought into my life. The overcoming of chronic bowel trouble, stomach disorder, ringworm, and the restoration of my singing voice, which had seemingly been lost for over four months, are some of the benefits received.

From childhood, questions loomed up in my thought as to the why and wherefore of human existence, followed later by a firm conviction that something must be radically wrong; for conditions nowhere seemed in any sense ideal, as each one innately desires to have them. I frequently questioned those who had made a careful study of the Bible, and I studied considerably myself in quest of a solution to the problem, but the result was always peculiarly unsatisfying.

I am profoundly grateful for the health, peace, and happiness which have come to me through Christian Science. When I began its study, physical healing was not expected.

When a young girl I hungered and thirsted after God and used to shut myself in a retired part of the house to pray, if haply I might find Him; but no satisfying sense of God came, although I was a member of a church. One of my girlhood's desires was to be brought into touch with some one spiritually minded enough to teach me the things of God.

With great thankfulness to God, I beg to testify of my healing through Christian Science of a very serious growth on my face which lasted over a year and a half. It would get a little better, and then become worse.

I should like to give this testimony to show what Christian Science has done for me. Nearly four years ago, when I was in Kashmir, a friend sent me the address of a Christian Science practitioner in case at any time I should want help from her.

To say that I am grateful for Christian Science is to express very inadequately the gratitude I feel, and which I can only show in living so as to be worthy of the name Christian Scientist. I learned of this teaching in the first place through my parents, about eight or nine years ago, but at the time did not appreciate the necessity of studying it faithfully.
