Testimonies of Healing

In the summer of 1910 I attended my first Christian Science service. I enjoyed it very much and since that time have been attending regularly.

Christian Science was brought to me when I was very much in need of comfort. For two years I had a great fear of losing my eyesight, and was treated every two or three days by a specialist who told me that I had a serious case of cataract, and that I would have to be treated the rest of my life, but at any time might lose my sight.

Having been interested in Christian Science for over fifteen years, I wish to give my testimony as to the healing power of Christian Science and the understanding I have gained through the study of the Bible and of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

I want to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received in Christian Science, and for the understanding of God I have acquired through its study. When I first became interested in this healing truth, I was wearing glasses, and had been doing so for a number of years.

With a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science, I desire to give my testimony. Sunday morning, July 29, 1917, while making preparations for a business trip, I was suddenly taken ill with extreme nausea, followed by violent attacks of vomiting.

It is with pleasure that I write this testimony regarding my healing. For several years I suffered with my feet; the doctors could not agree as to the cause of the trouble or the means for a cure.

I should like to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. All my life I had been delicate, and for fifteen years I suffered constantly from diseased kidneys and ulcers in the stomach.

Several years ago I attended a Christian Science Wednesday evening meeting and read some pamphlets bought at the reading room, but the teaching remained a mystery to me. In the autumn of 1914 my wife was away for a rest in hope of finding some relief from her suffering caused by obstinate ulcers in the stomach, with which she had been troubled for many years, and which, in spite of great caution, would not heal, the pains increasing instead of decreasing.

The time has come when I can no longer refrain from telling what Christian Science has done for our family. In April, 1914, I was taken with a severe cold, and a physician stated it was the beginning of acute lung trouble.
