Testimonies of Healing
A few years ago I spent the summer with one who is a Christian Scientist; and while observing the physical healing, the happiness, peace, and joy which this one derived from studying Christian Science, I became interested. It seemed to me that this was a religion worth studying, when it made my friend so happy with seemingly so much around to make one the very reverse.
For a long time I have taken the opportunity to make known to my friends some of the benefits which I have enjoyed through my limited understanding of Christian Science, but I have heretofore refrained from giving any testimony for publication. This, I am sure, is not because of lack of appreciation of the good things that have come my way, but because of a disinclination to appear in print.
I became interested in Christian Science through the healing of my child. She had a very serious bowel disorder and had been given up by one of our physicians, who advised me to take her to my mother's home some three hundred miles away.

It has long been my desire to express publicly my gratitude for all the good which has come to us through Christian Science during the last seven years. If I were to write about it all, it would fill a book.
It is with the hope that my testimony may serve as an encouragement to some one who may be struggling to find release and deliverance "from the awful and oppressive bondage now enforced by false theories" ( Science and Health, p. 151 ), that I am prompted to write it at this time.
It is with a heart full of thankfulness to God, also of gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who has given to mankind this healing truth, that I wish to tell of a few of the many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science.
Several years ago, while doing office work in Terre Haute, Ind. , I began to suffer from a general nervous breakdown, and later contracted what the doctors called chronic malaria.
I did not come into Christian Science through physical healing; but soon after becoming a Christian Scientist I had a very conclusive proof of the infinite power of Truth. While engaged in making soap in the home of my father at Winlock, Wash.
