Testimonies of Healing

I was a witness of Mrs. Lord's healing through Christian Science, and the foregoing is a true statement of the facts.

It is difficult for a Christian Scientist to enter at once into his full heritage with Christ, and nearly impossible for him to tell one unacquainted with Christian Science all the good which this teaching has brought into his life. Healing from physical ills is the most easily comprehended of the Christian Scientist's many blessings, and he therefore usually tells of such healing when asked to give a reason for his faith.

It is now almost seven years since the wondrous truth of Christian Science began to dawn upon my darkened sense, bringing the "light that never was, on sea or land," quickening into life what had lain dead through the long winter of my discontent, and lo! spring was there with its first green shoots, the tiny buds of the unfolding flower, the sweet songs of rejoicing in "the wide horizon's grander view" (Hymnal, p. 4).

It is with a joyful heart and a sense of deep gratitude that I wish to testify to the good which has come to me through Christian Science. I had been suffering for two years with a stomach affection, in addition to heart trouble and a nervous condition, and had been under the care of various physicians; but instead of being relieved, I seemed to grow worse every day.

With a heart overflowing with gratitude for help received through reading the testimonies of others in the Christian Science publications, I am desirous to tell of my own healing, with the loving hope that seekers for Truth may be helped thereby. Prior to 1903 I had been a great sufferer for fifteen years from a complication of diseases,—chronic throat trouble, stomach disorder of serious nature, heart affection, rheumatism, and sleeplessness.

Truly , Christian Science meets every human need. While surf bathing with two cousins near my home, one cousin and myself were suddenly swept out of our depth.

It is with a sense of deepest gratitude that my husband and I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. This healing truth came to us at a time when all seemed dark, with nothing facing us but despair.

Christian Science teaches us to glorify God by proving to the world that good is the only power. In my home many discords have been overcome through the application of this healing truth.

In August, 1910, I received a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " I believe I can truthfully say that I am a better, wiser, and happier woman than I ever thought it possible to be, and I write this testimony with the hope that if any who read it are in doubt as to the value of Christian Science, they will be encouraged by it.

The following testimony is a grateful recognition of what Christian Science has done and is doing for me and my family. I trust it may bring encouragement to those who have given up all hope of ever being well, and who have gone the rounds of material remedies, climate included.
