Testimonies of Healing
In the spring of 1910, the subject of Christian Science was presented to me in a very practical way. For eight weeks I had been confined to my home, with a trained medical nurse employed and an attending physician each day.
Looking back, I can see that step by step I was led into Christian Science. From childhood I had attended church.
Eight years ago I was healed of lung trouble through Christian Science. I had given up my position, and for two months had been confined to my room, most of the time to my bed.
I have received so many blessings from Christian Science that I feel it my duty to tell of them. When my husband became interested in this teaching through a kind friend where he was employed, I was doubtful as to what it could do, for he was physically in a bad condition, after having tried many doctors and medicines.
For several years I was a great sufferer from stomach trouble. I tried physicians of both schools, and medicines of all kinds, but to no avail.
The blessings which have come to me since I became acquainted with the teachings of Christian Science are many, but at present I will tell of two instances of physical healing. Two and a half years ago, while at home, I fell and sustained a fracture of the arm.
For several years I could not reconcile myself to the prevailing religious beliefs. I became an agnostic and an infidel, giving up all church relations, the Sunday service, Sunday school work, and guild work.
In deep gratitude I blend my voice with the great song of praise and thanksgiving to God, sung by so many thousands today, for His truth, revealed to us through the faithful work of Mrs. Eddy.
I would like to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me, both physically and mentally. I came to it a few years ago for physical healing, and was cured at that time of what seemed to be a very serious lung trouble.
Words cannot express how thankful I am to God for the many blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. In September, 1912, I was healed of spinal trouble from which six physicians had said I could not recover.
