Testimonies of Healing
I deem it a great privilege to testify through the Journal to the blessings I have received in Christian Science. Four years ago my wife, who had not known a well day in twenty years, was taken seriously ill, and it seemed as though some extra effort would have to be made to avoid a fatal ending.
FOR fifteen years I have not. taken any medicine, but have depended upon divine power for my healing.
I feel it a duty as well as a pleasure to tell what Christian Science has done in our home. When our second boy was two years old, he swallowed what the doctors called a deadly poison.
I am truly grateful for what Christian Science has done for me. In August, 1910, 1 was a physical wreck, for I had a nervous breakdown which caused me to be almost distracted at times.
About nine years ago I was attacked with a severe stomach trouble, which became alarming. My husband called a doctor, but told him not to bring any medicine.
I feel, that the time has come for me to give expression to my wonderful healing in Christian Science, and readers will know that I have much to be thankful for. For twenty years my eyes were in a very bad condition, although I had many specialists treat them; but they grew worse all the time.
For some time I have been wanting to express publicly my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. I did not take up its study for physical healing, as I then considered myself healthy, although I frequently had very severe headaches, and I did not expect ever to be rid of them, as they were supposed to be hereditary.
"Man's extremity is God's opportunity. " These words exactly describe the state in which Christian Science found me.
When I was a boy about thirteen years old, our mother, who had been sick continuously for a long time, decided to try Christian Science, although there were then few who knew anything about it. To our great surprise it was only a few days before she was up, restored to health; and that was twenty-four years ago.
My heart overflows with gratitude to God when I think of the many blessings which have come to me and my family through the demonstration of the all-power of Love, divine Principle, as understood through the study of Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
